Encounters

All Bird of Prey Encounters give you a chance to handle and fly a selection of our birds. They are offered on an exclusive basis, meaning that you (and your family/friends) will be the only one(s) with us for your encounter. We can also tailor any encounter to fit your requirements, so feel free to contact us for a chat.

Our encounters are run at Glebe Farm in Astbury, Congleton. This venue also has a lovely cafe, farm shop, a play area and farm animals to feed. Why not make an afternoon of it? To purchase an encounter voucher please visit our online shop.

We offer a few different types of encounter which are listed below:

Fun Family Encounter £90 per family (40 minutes)

This includes two adults and up to four children aged four and over (younger children can be catered for, please ring to discuss).

A fun introduction to the world of owls and other birds of prey. Aimed at younger children, this is an educational and interactive experience.

If you want to add any more family or friends to your encounter we charge an additional £20 for each person joining who wants to play a full part in your encounter up to a maximum of 4 additional guests.

An Hour with Owls (approx 1 hour)

An interactive experience with a diverse selection of owls. Find out about how owls are specially adapted to hunt in the dark, how different each species is and marvel at their silent flight. A must for any owl fan!

£60 for one person
£130 per family. This includes two adults and up to three children aged 8 and over
Additional participants up to a maximum of 4 are charged at an extra £35 each.

Family or friends

who want to watch, but not take part,

are welcome, at a charge of £10 per person.

All encounters are available as Gift Vouchers

These are valid for 18 months from a date of your choice. For example, if you want to buy a voucher as a present for a birthday in the future, you can start the redeeming period from that date. This gives the receiver the full 18 months to book on to their Encounter. Please note we do not run encounters in January and February.

All vouchers are posted out in a presentation sleeve with all booking details included. Alternatively, if you are in a hurry, just purchase an e-voucher. All our encounters can be purchased from our online shop.
